The History of Police Brutality

A little history lesson on everything going on in our country and communities. Now I’m not saying ALL cops are bad or everyone in law enforcement is a racist. Thankfully I've encountered much more good cops than bad. What we must remember, is that the police force was originally created and used in the south to protect “white property” and to “preserve the slavery system”. Keep in mind blacks at the time weren’t allowed to own property, so they made that process simple!

When blacks were allowed to own property, their property lacked protection, and proper insurance. The blacks that were doing alright for themselves, were harshly targeted by angry white supremacists, who were itching for their opportunity to intervene and destroy these communities (Ex. Rosewood, Tulsa Riots 1921, just to name a few). In the north slavery didn’t exist, but blacks were still not viewed or treated completely equal. Blacks in the north were subjected to similar mistreatment from the law enforcement and other hate groups such as the KKK.

The fear of law enforcement was instilled hundreds of years ago through many acts of inhumane brutalities inflicted upon blacks. Arming ALL white police forces with guns, batons, and badges, with the intention of suppressing any person of color getting “out of line”. Let’s also not forget that it was declared BY LAW in the Dred Scott decision, that blacks had NO RIGHTS and slaves could be taken to and from free states and STILL remain a slave. Or the 3/5 clause where slaves were only counted as 3/5 of a person!!! That’s right, not a whole human being, only partial.

Now we’ve came a loooooooooooong way as a people, but unfortunately, some still have that evil, overbearing, tyrannical, outdated mindset. The system isn’t broken, it's acting exactly as it was designed to do, it needs breaking!!! But it must be carried out in the right way, not unorganized chaos with no goals, lead, or proper demands! The looting and destruction of property, definitely sends the wrong message and attacks the wrong people in most cases. This is exactly what the enemy wants. This gives them the excuse to continue to false label us, stereotype, persecute, treat different ethnic groups unequally, and decide who deserves this or that, etc, etc. Getting away with mistreating us in ANY way possible, no matter the time or place... And they get away with it the majority of the time, with paid leave unfortunately. As we continue to witness these events across our nation, we see the history tied to these lawlessness savageries at the hands of "law enforcement". Those who are now labeled with the duties to protect and serve the communities of EVERYONE, not only white property or people. With our own tax dollars that we pay as citizens providing the law enforcement's salary, are we being served equal justice and protection by law???
